<p>Per Florida Board of Dentistry, Mandatory Continuing Education Information are:</p>
<p>As a condition of the biennial renewal of a license, each licensee shall be required to complete continuing education courses as stated in Rule 64B5-12.013, Florida Administrative Code, which are relevant to, and which enhance the licensee&#8217;s ability to practice.</p>
<p>Licensees shall not be required to complete continuing education requirements during the biennium in which they receive initial licensure with the exception of a board approved HIV/AIDS course.</p>
<p>The current biennium is March 1, 2008-February 28, 2010.</p>
<p><strong>Anesthesia permit holders</strong> must complete at least four (4) hours of continuing education relating to anesthesia each biennium the permit is held. Effective May 24, 2005, this includes two (2) hours dealing with the management of medical emergencies. These hours would be included in the 30 hours of continuing education required by Section 466.0135(1), F.S.</p>
<p><strong>Dentist</strong> &#8211; 30 hours of continuing education which must include:</p>
<ul>
<li>2 hours in the prevention of medical errors</li>
<li>2 hours in domestic violence (every third biennium)</li>
<li>In addition to the 30 hours, each dentist must complete a CPR course at the basic life support level, which includes training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at the basic support level, including one-rescuer and two-rescuer CPR for adults, children, and infants; the relief of foreign body airway obstructions for adults, children, and infants; the use of an automatic external defibrillator (AED); and the use of ambu-bags resulting in certification or recertification by the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross or an entity with equivalent requirements.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>HIV/AIDS is required only if this is the licensees first renewal</strong></p>
<p><strong>Dental Hygienist &#8211; </strong>24  hours of continuing education which must include:</p>
<ul>

<p><strong>HIV/AIDS is required only if this is the licensees first renewal</strong></p>
<p><strong>Domestic Violence:</strong>Section 456.031, Florida Statutes was revised in 2006 to require the two-hour domestic violence (DV) course be taken as part of every third biennial re-licensure or re-certification.</p>
<p>This means:</p>
<ul>
<li>If you were already licensed in 2006, the DV requirement is due within 6 years (2012) and then every 6 years thereafter</li>
<li>If you were licensed in 2007 or after, the DV requirement is due within 6 years of the licensure date and every 6 years thereafter</li>
</ul>

<p>If you are renewing your license in the State of Florida, change in Florida law requires that you renew your Florida license every two (2) years. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Do you need continuing education courses to renew your Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Florida before December 31, 2009?</p>
<p>It can be difficult to find time in your very busy schedule to complete the necessary continuing education courses to keep you up to date and in time to renew your Florida license. That&#8217;s why, here at RIGHT ACCORD, we can make it easy and convenient for you to complete the course requirements at an easy to read and at your own pace program right at your fingertips.</p>
<p>All Florida Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are now in a 12 month or 24 month renewal cycle and must complete 12 hours or 24 hours of continuing education during each renewal period.</p>
<p>If you need CEUs immediately please complete courses on line. Upon completion, you can print your certificate.  CE Certificate will be  automatically reported to your professional board through the CEBroker that you have satisfied the required hours. CEBroker is a private contractor charged by the state to verify that licensees complete their required continuing education.   No need for you to submit the certificate.</p>

<p>Every Certified Nursing Assistant must meet 12 hours of in-service training each calendar year.</p>
